Wallet & Connectors

Manual signing, connected proposals and the boundary with Auto.

1. Wallet software and hosted services

These terms supplement the Terms of Service for ODEI wallet software and supported Connectors. ODEI develops non-custodial wallet software and provides hosted preparation, encrypted backup, transaction delivery and status services. In the normal Manual signing flow, your root private key is generated or unlocked and used on your device. Hosted services remain part of the product; this description does not mean every function is local or determine the regulatory treatment of every activity.

Manual and Auto have different authorization models. Manual requires your review and signature for the operation being released. Where available, Auto: Rules & Permissions describes separately authorized execution under a standing rule. This edition applies when accepted under the applicable agreement; publication alone does not change an earlier agreement.

2. Connected proposals

You or a connected application may request supported operations. A proposal can contain software-generated parameters, protocol quotes, fees, approvals or several related calls. A Connector request is not your wallet signature. Review the requesting connection, network, assets, amounts, recipient and contract permissions.

Connector credentials permit the functions granted to that connection; they do not provide the owner’s signing authority or private keys. However, a proposal matching an active Auto rule can enter ODEI’s separate automatic execution process. Do not assume that submitting a proposal always leaves it waiting for a new Manual approval.

3. Keys and access

The normal Manual signing and backup flows do not send ODEI your wallet password or unencrypted root private key. Remembered access can retain encrypted wallet material and a browser-managed unlocking mechanism on that device. Protect your browser profile, extensions, device and recovery material; use the wallet’s lock controls when appropriate.

The hosted application and its updates are software you trust to handle keys correctly. Auto uses a separate delegated signer described in its own terms. Keeping the root key locally does not mean no other authorized signing key exists.

4. Recovery and encrypted backup

Hosted Manual setup saves a password-encrypted backup with your ODEI profile following the authorization presented during setup. ODEI stores that backup and associated records. Current signing access through the hosted interface requires an available, synchronized profile copy. Account sign-in alone does not replace the password or recovery material needed to unlock the wallet.

Preserve your recovery material before clearing browser storage or changing devices. ODEI cannot recover a forgotten wallet password from this encrypted backup. Authorizing backup does not authorize a transaction or enable Auto. See the Privacy Notice.

5. Manual review and signatures

Before signing, inspect the decoded operation and any continuing permission. One signature may authorize a batch, a token approval, a smart-account change or an order that can settle later. An apparently small transfer can include additional contract calls; read the complete review.

Quotes and simulations describe particular observations, not guaranteed outcomes. A changed or expired proposal may require preparation and review again. An AI explanation does not replace the wallet review or independent advice where needed. The Risk Disclosure explains material model, market and protocol risks.

6. Signed payloads and delivery

After your Manual approval and release, ODEI may retain the signed transaction, order, cancellation or message and transmit it through the supported owner-authorized workflow. Supported CoW orders and cancellations are delivered by ODEI to the orderbook. A signature can authorize later settlement within its terms, without another signature for each fill.

Current Connectors receive permitted state, results and owner links, not released signature bytes. Reading CoW order status through a Connector does not publish or resend the order or cancellation. Preparation, signature release, delivery and confirmed settlement remain distinct events.

7. Uncertain submissions and cancellation

An uncertain submission is not proof that nothing happened. The explicit Manual recovery flow requires owner confirmation before resending a retained transaction; a limited transport retry can send the same signed transaction following a rate-limit refusal. Follow the operation’s actual recovery instructions instead of creating a duplicate.

Deleting an unsigned draft, withdrawing a signed but unpublished order and cancelling an order already on an orderbook are different actions. A cancellation can race with settlement. Acknowledgement is not finality, and pending or reorganized transactions may need further reconciliation. Network fees may apply even when an operation fails.

8. Permissions can continue

Allowances, smart-account modules, delegations and released signatures can remain effective after a review ends. Disconnecting a Connector, signing out, locking the browser wallet or selecting Manual does not itself revoke on-chain authority or cancel an external order. Use the applicable revocation or cancellation procedure and check its confirmation.

Independent protocols determine settlement, withdrawal, liquidation and other contract conditions. Assets deposited into a protocol or escrow become subject to those conditions. Non-custodial signing does not guarantee immediate withdrawal or remove powers granted to a protocol or arbiter.

9. Choosing Auto

Auto is optional and requires a separate rule and authorization. Eligible proposals may then be signed and submitted by ODEI’s delegated signing infrastructure without a new signature for each trade. Its supported operations are narrower than the full Manual wallet catalogue. Review the Auto terms, including limits, expiration, server checks, pause and on-chain revocation, before activation. A general account connection or backup authorization is not an Auto mandate.

10. Charges, support and your rights

Network, protocol and disclosed ODEI charges may apply. Estimates can change before execution, and failed attempts may incur network costs. See Billing, Cancellation & Refunds for purchase conditions and statutory remedies.

For a problem or complaint, contact ai@odei.ai with the operation identifier, relevant dates and requested remedy. Do not send private keys, passwords or recovery phrases. Your responsibility to review permissions and secure your device does not remove ODEI’s obligations. These terms preserve mandatory consumer protections, data rights and remedies, including where an external transaction cannot be reversed.
